Freedom of Expression

After a successful collaboration and festival in 2021 with the Nobel Peace Center they again approached us to design the concept, naming, and visual identity for the festival and conference in 2022.

The events were held to honour Nobel Peace Prize laureates Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov and their fight for freedom of speech, truth and democracy. This ended a year of events related to the Nobel Peace Prize to Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov, a year that has offered great challenges to press freedom across the world.

Designit’s goal in working with the Nobel on the Freedom of Expression Conference and Festival was to create an identity that inspires curiosity, engagement and participation and one which visually unifies the conference and festival. Our final solution consisted of three different outputs: concept, naming, and visual identity. These outputs were all created and implemented on various touch points throughout the conference and festival to allow visitors of the events to be able to clearly understand and relate to the topic of freedom of expression.
